At first, florfenicol was mainly used in aquaculture, and it was effective in treating pseudonuclear Pasteurellosis, streptococcosis and natural outbreak of Atlantic salmon furuncle in yellow croaker.
Florfenicol is an antibiotic drug, which has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect by inhibiting the activity of peptidyl transferase, including various Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Sensitive bacteria include Haemophilus, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Pneumococcus, Influenza Bacillus, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Chlamydia, Leptospira, Rickettsia, etc. This product can diffuse into bacterial cells through fat solubility, mainly acting on the 50s subunit of bacterial 70s ribosome, inhibiting transpeptidase, inhibiting the growth of peptidase and the formation of peptide chain, thus preventing the synthesis of protein and achieving the antibacterial purpose. This product has the advantages of rapid oral absorption, wide distribution, long half-life, high blood concentration and long maintenance time.
