Portugal Smart Farm Forum discusses biodiversity, technology and biological control.

Biodiversity, soil strategy, biological control of pests and diseases and digital precision agriculture are the topics discussed at the Smart Farm Forum, which is exclusively reported by AgroPages.

This year’s event was organized by the Portuguese National Plant Protection Industry Association (ANIPLA) with the theme of “Safe Food, Agriculture and Technology”

, held at the School of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Porto, Portugal. The forum brought together professionals and industry representatives to discuss the innovation and science related to ensuring a sufficient amount of safe food.
The conclusions of the forum are unanimous and based on several arguments, namely, “Modernization is synonymous with professionals in education, training and publicity, because of the great pressure from Europe to finally transition to’ Agriculture 4.0′.
“This is a difficult thing to achieve and a challenge that is getting harder to talk about, that is, ensuring food supply. We have never had a product with such richness, diversity and safety as it is now, “she said.
