The International Zinc Association emphasized “Zinc Nutrition Initiative” at FAI Annual Meeting

The three-day annual meeting of the Indian Fertilizer Association (FAI) opened in New Delhi. The theme of this year’s conference is “Fertilizer Industry by 2030″.
Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizer, Health and Family Welfare of India, was the chief guest, and he opened the FAI Annual Meeting and Exhibition Booth.
About 1,500 delegates from India and abroad attended the international conference. Participants included representatives of fertilizer companies, senior officials of central and state governments and agricultural scientists. Organized an exhibition for the company to show its products and technologies related to fertilizer and agriculture. The International Zinc Association (IZA) has established an experience center for consumers to show why zinc is essential to crops and human health.
Dr Soumitra Das, Southeast Asia Director of the International Zinc Association, said: “IZA works closely with FAI in a number of initiatives to raise people’s awareness of the importance of zinc as fertilizer for crops and human health nutrients. Zinc is an essential micronutrient for all living things. Zinc deficiency of crops and human beings is a key problem that has a great impact on food security and health. Adding zinc to soil and crops is helpful to solve the problem of global food production and nutritional value, and has significant social, health and economic benefits. Zinc deficiency is the fifth leading cause of death and disease in the developing world “.
Zinc deficiency is the most common micronutrient deficiency in agricultural soil, which leads to the decrease of crop yield, crop quality and nutritional value. Zinc deficiency is especially serious, especially in developing countries that rely on cereal crops as the main source of calorie intake. IZA launched the zinc nutrition initiative to help solve the key problems of zinc deficiency in soil, crops and human beings. Zinc fertilizer can increase crop yield and nutrition, and ultimately improve food security and human health. Zinc fertilizer increases farmers’ income and improves local economy.
